Also other minor issues kind of pop up as the timer is 5 minutes before Namek explodes even though it takes longer than that based on the pacing. Granted this plot point was used before in Lovesick Sonic where it’s just to make Sonic tired but with everything happening in this episode and how much of a necessity for Sonic to be in all of these places otherwise they would be destroyed, it actually makes for good tension for the characters. ![]() I absolutely love this set up as it makes use of Sonic’s super powers and absolutely pushes it to the limit to not only save the places but also having to do it again at basically half the time. Funny enough this isn’t the only Sonic themed pinball episode we got but it’s not from this series but in Sonic SatAM where Sonic gets trapped in a pinball themed trap by Robotnik and losing a ball would banish Sonic to the Void…insert Final Fantasy V reference here. As mentioned, this was released close to Sonic Spinball’s release so it wouldn’t surprise me if this had a rewrite just so that they can advertise the game. Just kind of begs the question why would they call the episode “Attack of Pinball Fortress” when the Pinball themed part of it only shows up for a few moments. Sure the outside of the Fortress is pinball like and there was a part in it that is set up like a pinball, it really doesn’t need to be pinball themed at all as the actual pinball part only lasts for 30 seconds and is never brought up again. ![]() Funny enough despite it being called a Pinball Fortress. So much to talk about with this episode alone so we’ll start with the main focus on the title, the Pinball Fortress itself.
